I really love the visuals to this one. Director Nem Perez makes “Into The Future” look both futuristic and nostalgic by bringing together things from the past (decked-out Delorean) and the present (Nike Air Mags).

Young Chicago emcee Rockie Fresh drops the much anticipated Driving 88 mixtape for your ears. I have yet to give this one a listen, but it’s sure to be a solid tape. Some of the features on it include Phil Ade, King Louie, and Casey Veggies.

I believe this song was a SOTD previously, and it doesn’t seem like a better time to release a golf-inspired music video during The Open Championships. The video doesn’t showcase either Rockie’s or Casey’s golf skills, but it’s still a dope visual.

What is more fitting for a blog that covers music and sports than a hip-hop song named after a former NBA all-star? Rockie Fresh‘s A.C. Green (yes, he made one all-star appearance) is a song that, according to B.E.T., “takes its name from the renowned NBA player known for his longevity and dedication to the game.” Rockie raps about how he has to make it to “The Otherside” (also the name of his mixtape), as in he has to reach his dreams of becoming a huge star in the world of hip hop. The video that accompanies the song does a great job of showcasing Rockie in real life and his future fantasy world. Rockie is a graduate of Chicago’s very own Homewood-Flossmoor and is well on his way to becoming a successful MC.
